	Mark as Spam actionforanimals: 03/24/2008 12:56 AM oh, i wasn't "raised" a vegetarian -- my parents both always have and both still do eat meat -- i just always liked animals too much to eat them, and my parents and i learned to make it work with me being veg and them not. you should definitely encourage your parents to try being veg with you, but even if they don't, you can still do it and include them. something that i do is find veg recipes that my whole family can enjoy, and then i help my mom out with the cooking and baking. so then my parents are getting to discover new veg dishes, and i get to include them in a diet that's important to me. also, there are so many common foods that are veg -- many times meals are vegetarian (or can easily be made vegetarian by substituting a side dish or something) without even trying, such as maybe a pasta or rice dish, veg burritos, stir fried vegetables, soups, sandwiches, etc. you should check out vegcooking.com -- it has lots of really awesome recipes that you can start exploring.
